Extension Care Guide
Cleanse, Condition & Clarify
Shampoo your hair 1-2 times a week with the recommended Kevin.Murphy wash, rinse and treatment.

Make sure to brush all the tangles out of your extensions before showering. If you have multiple rows and are having trouble getting in between them, I recommend clipping your top row up to make sure you are cleansing in between your rows.

Only use conditioner from the ears down and around the face framing pieces. Avoid applying conditioner at the scalp. Keep a wide tooth comb or wet brush in your shower to comb through your hair with conditioner.
A clarifying shampoo can be used to eliminate product build up and minerals. If you have hard water, install a hard water filter. Be sure to completely rinse away shampoo and conditioner to avoid build up.
I suggest getting a terry cloth head wrap to wrap your hair in after you shower.

Drying & Styling
Gently squeeze the water out of your hair being care not to rub the ends together. Use a terry cloth towel wrap to help soak up excess water.

Use a wet brush to detangle your hair, avoiding the base of your extensions. DO NOT snag the base with your brush, this will cause damage to your natural hair and wefts.

Always use a leave-in conditioner and serum before blowdrying your hair.

Blow-dry your hair with a quality hair dryer (this will help with dry time & extend the life of your extensions) until 80% dry. Clip your extensions up and dry one row at a time, starting at the top of your extensions.
Use your wet brush to smooth your extensions out while drying. Do NOT blow-dry your hair upside down.

Brushing
Brush your hair multiple times a day to avoid tangling.
When brushing, hold your hair extensions at the base to avoid pulling them or putting tension on them.

DO NOT brush directly at the scalp as this can cause snagging at the base of your extensions.

Sleeping
ALways dry your hair before bed. Sleeping on wet hair can cause matting and molding.

Sleep with your hair in a braid or low ponytail to prevent tangling.

I recommend using a silk pillowcase. They help prevent tangling to your extensions.

Put serum in your hair before bed if it seems dry.

Extensions must be moved up every 6 to 8 weeks.
Things to Avoid
Do not use products not recommended by your stylist.

Do not sleep on wet extensions. This will cause matting and molding.

do not using sunscreens that contain Avobenzone or Octocrylene.
These chemicals cause extensions to turn pink and orange.
Mineral sunscreen is extension safe.

Avoid lake and river water, they tend to have minerals in them that can cause discoloration of your extensions if you are blonde.
